D.E.A.F. (Deaf/Hard of Hearing Empowerment & Advocacy for Families) in the Upper Valley Region

Parents of children with hearing loss have many choices and decisions to make. DEAF is an organization developed by parents for families whose children have hearing loss. DEAF welcomes all families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and is open to all, regardless of communication methodologies. DEAF provides resources, information, advocacy and support for families and communities to raise and educate children with hearing loss.

Each year DEAF hosts public discussion groups and social activities for the whole family. Interpreters are provided upon request. For many families, DEAF events are the first time they can meet other parents and children with hearing loss.

Presentations address issues such as equipment, technology, school supports, disability rights and family well-being.

DEAF's socials events include family get-togethers and activities for Teens & Tweens.
