Application Prerequisites & Process
The Child Life Council has up-to-date deadlines and details about the offer and acceptance process.
Clinical experience
Minimum pre-requisites to apply for the Internship:
- 100 hours of experience working with well children in a non-hospital setting
- 100 hours of documented pediatric hospital experience, under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- 3.0 GPA in major related field of study
- Working theoretical knowledge of Child Life and child development
- Ten child-life related courses approved by Child Life Council Course work review
- Minimum of 1 Course taught by a Certified Child Life Specialist (inclusive of 6 curriculum topics required by the CLC)
- Understanding of Child Life professional practice
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Documentation of CPR certification
